ABOUT TIM

CANDIDATE FOR 
COLLIER COUNTY SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS

Tim Guerrette is a candidate for the Collier County Supervisor of Elections in 2024.   After serving four years in the United States Air Force, Tim Guerrette started his law enforcement career in 1990 and worked his way to the rank of Chief of Operations at the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.  Tim retired in 2021, after 31 years of exemplary service to his community.

CAREER

Tim holds degrees in Criminal Justice, Business, and a Master’s degree in Administration from Barry University. Tim attended the 254 Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

 

Tim is a certified instructor for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and actively instructs for the Office of the Attorney General of Florida, CPSI, Southwest Florida Public Service Academy, National Association of REALTORS®, FloridaRealtors® and the Collier County Sheriff's Office Leadership Academy. Tim served as an Executive Board member of the 

Florida Gang Investigators Association.  He was also on the board of Youth Haven, an emergency shelter for abused and neglected children in Collier County.  Currently, Tim holds a position on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast. Tim attended Leadership Collier in 2008. Tim remains active with the FBI National Academy, National Association of Chiefs of Police, Naples Area Board of Realtors, and Republican Men’s Club of Collier County.
 

Tim has had the privilege to offer instruction to thousands of law enforcement officers, military personnel, educators, REALTORS®, and citizens in nearly all 50 states. His expertise includes the topics of Safety, Leadership, REALTOR® safety, gangs, drug investigations, school resource officer training, and school violence.

As the Chief of Operations, Tim was responsible for managing over 700+ employees, including assisting with the recruitment of new agency members, conducting performance evaluations, and providing training and career development opportunities.  He has developed and implemented schedules and deployment plans for deputies during multiple crisIs and hazardous situations, as well as ensuring that officers were properly trained and equipped to carry out their duties.  Tim managed several special units within the department, including the Patrol Division, Youth Relations, Gangs, SWAT, Aviation, and K9 units, developing policies and and standard operation procedures specific to these units

Tim Guerrette holds degrees in Criminal Justice, Business, and a Master's Degree in Administration.  He possesses strong leadership skills and often served as the Sheriff’s representative at public events and in media interviews.  He is proficient in managing and supervising department staff, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, government budgeting and financial management, developing and implementing policies, procedures, and state laws.  He is a certified instructor and has extensive training in security and safety.  Tim has been proudly serving the Collier County community since 1990 and continues to be involved through philanthropy and volunteering for several community events and organizations. 

 

Tim is excited and ready to bring his vast knowledge and experience in safety, security, problem solving, innovative solutions, and working with citizens of diverse backgrounds to the Supervisor of Elections for the betterment of the community. Tim is committed to a Safe | Secure | Ethical electoral process for Collier County and beyond.
